Assistant Operations Manager (Training and Quality Manager) / Safety, Performance & Leadership Coach

Monty is a recently retired Navy Captain with over 32 years of active-duty service and demonstrated, proven executive and combat leadership.  He is a 1990 graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.  While flying nearly 3,000 hours in strike-fighter aircraft with over 700 aircraft carrier landings, he was decorated numerous times for personal valor in combat.  He has made world-wide deployments on multiple aircraft carriers in numerous combat theaters.  

He served as the Commanding Officer (CEO) of a strike-fighter squadron responsible for 13 FA-18 Super Hornet aircraft and nearly 300 personnel under his command in the Navy’s Forward Deployed Naval Forces overseas.  He also served as Commanding Officer (CEO, City Manager) of a major Navy Installation where he was responsible for the safety, security, and mission preparedness of 300 FA-18 Super Hornet and F-35 Lightning aircraft (over half of the Navy’s strike-fighter assets) and nearly 30,000 personnel who live and operate onboard the installation.

During his career, he was hand-selected to be a TOPGUN Instructor at the Navy Fighter Weapons School where he trained and taught at the pinnacle of training and Human Performance within Naval Aviation.

He retired as the Director of Operations (COO) at Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic where he was responsible for the oversight of Fire and Emergency Services, Port Operations, Air Operations, Security, Safety, Emergency Management, and Emergency Dispatch services for all Navy equities in Navy Region Mid-Atlantic.
