Billy Mac Perry grew up working his family’s dairy farm in East Texas. As a young man he operated trucks, maintained livestock, and many types of equipment.
Billy Mac graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and went to work for the United States Department of Agriculture regulating and administering the milk pricing policies for the state of Texas. In 1985, he joined the United States Air Force. While flying the B-52, he was selected as the Bomb Squadron Commander’s Executive Officer where he assisted the Commander in the day-to-day logistical operation of the squadron’s 100 officers and enlisted members. In 1987, he was selected to become one of the first flight crew members in the newly developed B-1 bomber. There he quickly became a Standards and Evaluation pilot in charge of systems and procedures evaluations verifying crews’ competency in mission evaluations. In 1989, he and his crew earned the best B-1 bomber crew in the Air Force.
In 1992, he left the military and was hired by American Airlines. He was selected to become an FAA designated evaluator and instructor on the 727 aircraft where he would conduct training in the simulator and the aircraft to ensure compliance with all FAA and company operational safety procedures.
In March 2010, he joined a startup oil and gas safety consulting company where he worked offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and Egypt, and on land rigs throughout the United States and Canada. From 2012 through 2015, he served as President and CEO of the company’s international logistics solutions division growing that business unit to $15M in annual revenue.
Currently he is a co-founder and partner at CAVU International.
